“The biggest thing [that has evolved] is that I have more confidence in myself and I am more aware of what I am able to do,” said Osaka.
When asked to pick between her two Grand Slam victories, the Japanese picked her maiden slam – winning under the lights in New York City against tennis legend Serena Williams. “It’s something I’ve dreamed about as a kid for so long — to play against her in a final of a Grand Slam. It’s definitely something I’ll never forget.”
Osaka plays Kristina Mladenovic of France in her opening match this week. Tickets are available online and from the Stadium Box Office. For further information about the tournament please visit www.dubaidutyfreetennischampionships.com.
