World No. 1 Naomi Osaka spoke with Robbie Greenfield of Dubai Eye 103.8 ahead of the 2019 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
A year has made a big difference for the Japanese, who almost had to qualify to reach the Dubai main draw in 2018. Since then, she picked up titles in Indian Wells, the US Open, and the Australian Open.

“The biggest thing [that has evolved] is that I have more confidence in myself and I am more aware of what I am able to do,” said Osaka.
When asked to pick between her two Grand Slam victories, the Japanese picked her maiden slam – winning under the lights in New York City against tennis legend Serena Williams. “It’s something I’ve dreamed about as a kid for so long — to play against her in a final of a Grand Slam. It’s definitely something I’ll never forget.”
