World number five Karolina Pliskova got a bird’s eye view of Dubai today when she visited the newest tourist destination in the city, the Dubai Frame. Pliskova, the third seed in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, was accompanied by her fiancé Michal Hrdlicka and viewed the attraction from ground level before enjoying the magnificent view from the top.
The Frame, which opened last month, measures 150 metres high and 93 metres wide. The two towers are connected by a 100-square-metre bridge, which has a 25-square-metre glass panel in the middle offering a great 360 degree view.
Pliskova, the US Open finalist and winner of 9 career titles, begins her quest to add the Dubai trophy to her collection on Wednesday, saying “I played a final here a few years ago so I just hope to be back in the final and hopefully get the trophy. I’m not sure of my opponent yet but it will definitely be tough as the draw is very strong so there won’t be any easy games. So far the conditions have been good for me so hopefully I can do well in this tournament.”
