Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2023 serves up an elite field with 18 of the world’s Top 20 women confirmed

World No.1 Iga Swiatek leads a line-up that includes 18 of the best 20 female tennis players on the planet for the WTA event at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium from February 19-25. Tickets for the annual Championships are available online now with prices starting from Dh55.

Dubai, UAE – January 23, 2023: Eighteen of the world’s top-20 female players will descend on Dubai next month to compete in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, a high-quality line-up that includes the world’s top four players and defending champion Jelena Ostapenko.

WTA World No.1 Iga Swiatek heads a star-studded field for the extravaganza at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, from February 19-25, and will be joined by Arab superstar and World No.2 Ons Jabeur; Jessica Pegula (No.3) and Caroline Garcia (No.4).

Poland’s 21-year-old Swiatek added two more Grand Slam titles in 2022 to finish the year top of the WTA rankings, following up her second French Open title with a maiden win at the US Open. Her opponent at Flushing Meadows – Jabeur – meanwhile became the first Arab to reach a Grand Slam final when she progressed to the final at Wimbledon and again at the US Open last year. A crowd favourite, the Tunisian is the highest ranked African in tennis history.

Other names confirmed for the women’s tournament include last year’s Dubai finalist Veronika Kudermetova, the current World No.9; World No.8 Daria Kasatkina; 2017 US Open finalist Madison Keys; Dubai-based Spaniard Paula Badosa, Brazilian No.1 Beatriz Haddad Maia, Belinda Bencic and Petra Kvitova.

Tickets for the 31 st edition of the Championships, which runs from February 19 – March 4, are on sale now at dubaidutyfreetennischampionships.com, starting from Dh55. They will also be available every day at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium Box Office from February 9 between 9am and 9pm.

Next month’s Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships will start with the 23rd staging of the WTA event from February 19 to 25, before the 31 st staging of the ATP Tour 500 tournament from February 26 to March 4.
