Some of the best young tennis players from affiliated tennis academies across the UAE took part in the UAE Tennis Federation Clinic at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with Barbora Krejcikova.
February 18, 2022 – DUBAI, UAE: Some of the best young tennis players from affiliated tennis academies across the UAE took part in the UAE Tennis Federation Clinic at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
Fourteen aspiring Emirati tennis talent, aged under 16, were joined by Academy coaches and the Czech player, Barbora Krejcikova, who met the youngsters and had a Q&A at the Tennis Village. Krejcikova gave some invaluable advice and tips for their future career as well.
Barbora Krejcikova said: “It was really fun, it’s really nice to interact with the kids, show them what professional tennis is like and encourage them to always step up. I hope they enjoyed it!”
Tournament Director, Salah Tahlak said: “It’s great to have so many kids back playing and having the opportunity to interact with some of the best players in this week’s tournament. We are constantly striving to encourage participation in sports and sessions like this are the perfect platform for them.”
Nasser Yousef Almarzooqi, General Secretary of the UAE Tennis Federation, said: “As a tennis community we encourage children to participate in these tournaments so they are inspired to become international players.”
The tournament is owned and organised by Dubai Duty Free, and held under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The tournament continues until the 26th of February.
