More than 130 people of determination gather for lovely day at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Dubai, UAE – February 26, 2025: Laughter and action-packed play were the order of the day during the second People of Determination Day at the ongoing Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Designed to inspire and celebrate inclusivity in sports, children and adults from across the emirate enjoyed an energetic morning on court, before an exclusive meet and greet with Indian Doubles star Yuki Bhambri.
With support from qualified coaches and enthusiastic volunteers, more than 130 participants from eight different schools and vocational training centres gathered at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. Underlining the power of sports to unite and positively influence, the young enthusiasts enjoyed the chance to engage in a series of rallies and games with Bhambri, who along with his Australian counterpart Alexei Popyrin defeated World No1 doubles duo Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic in Tuesday’s Round of 16.
“This is a great example of how schools can incorporate a love for tennis among students,” said Bhambri afterwards. “By organising programmes such as this, those taking part not only get to enjoy playing the game, but can also watch some of their favourite players live in action. I hope more schools and organisations incorporate such elements and help develop a strong sporting culture in the country.”
