The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships is owned and organised by Dubai Duty Free and takes place under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

An estimated US$1 billion worth of TV exposure was generated during the 2018 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, with coverage throughout Europe, Asia, North America, Africa, Australasia, and Latin America.

Awards

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships has won a total of 35 ATP/ WTA awards since the inception of the men’s tournament in 1993 and the women’s in 2001. The men’s tournament has won the ATP 500 Tournament of the Year award eleven times since 2003. This award is voted on by the ATP players.

Prize Money

Total prize money for the tournament is just over US$5.4million, $2.7 million each for WTA and ATP.

Venue

The Aviation Club and Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium have been the home of the Dubai Championships since 1993.  The 5,000 seat Dubai Tennis Stadium was officially inaugurated by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in February 1996, and has been renamed the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

Hotel

The Official Player’s hotel for the 2019 Championships is the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Dubai. Jumeirah Creekside is owned by Dubai Duty Free and operated by Jumeirah Hotels. Players and officials will be accommodated at the hotel.

Tickets for one of the most highly regarded events on the UAE sporting calendar are available at: www.dubaidutyfreetennischampionships.com.

Tickets are also available at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium Box Office, which is open 9am-9pm daily.

Grandstand seats are not numbered and are on a first-come first served basis. There is dedicated media seating and sponsor’s areas. Prices range from AED55 for opening day seats to AED475 for the men’s finals.

The Metro stop of GGICO is a 5 minute walk from the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and a free shuttle bus from the GGICO station to the stadium.

All tournament ticket holders can avail of the free Park N’ Ride service to and from the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium throughout the Championships. The service begins 1 hour before match timings.

The Tennis Academy Youth Day

The Tennis Academy Youth day will be held on the opening day of the championships. For the first time the tournament is offering Tennis Emirates affiliated academies the opportunity to participate in a tennis skills & drills clinic, suitable for academy level players with the chance to interact with a WTA superstar.

Kids’ Days – The J.P. Morgan Kids’ Days

The J.P. Morgan Kids’ Day will be held on Monday of both weeks. These days are a great opportunity for local school children to experience the game of tennis, see what it takes to be a ball kid, meet and have a hit with tennis stars.

Tennis Emirates Days

Tennis Emirates is the governing body for tennis in the UAE. The Tennis Emirates Days are an opportunity for U8 & U10 academy children to experience tennis and interact with tennis stars.

Special Needs Clinics

The clinics for children with special needs provide an opportunity for them to experience tennis and meet players. The first clinic will be sponsored by Lacoste and the second by Dubai Duty Free.

Autograph and selfie sessions will be held on the Monday of ATP week during the Kids’ Day clinic.

Entertainers will perform for the spectators and fans in the village throughout the tournament.

Big Screens

Big Screens will feature the live action in the Tennis Village throughout the tournament. The Tennis Village is open to the general public.

Catch and Win

Every day at the start of each session, fans will be able to ‘Catch and Win’ as 10 tennis balls are hit into the crowd. Each ball caught can be redeemed at the Dubai Duty Free stand for an exciting prize from the sponsors.

Autographed Ball

Fans on Centre Court will have the opportunity to own a signed tennis ball from players as they are hit into the crowd after the 7pm matches.

Win a Grand Prize!

We are running two social media competitions during event, one during WTA week and the other during ATP week. The social media competition prize is two tickets to the final (WTA & ATP) and two tickets to attend the Players’ Party (WTA & ATP) with an opportunity to meet star players.

Partner Schools Programme

In the lead up to the Championships schools were invited to be part of the Partner Schools Programme. The schools involved participated in a tennis activity session as a fun introduction to the sport. The students played the Dubai Duty Free tennis inflatable game and received a visit from the tournament mascots Ace and Annette and the tournament trophies.

Dubai Duty Free Official Junior Reporter

This opportunity is offered to our partner schools, aimed at school children between the ages of 11-18 years to win the chance to ask a question of one of the tennis players during their post-match interview. This opportunity is offered to our Partner schools. The Junior Reporter will also have a photograph with the player, and be given a tour of the media room.

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Surprise Draws

The winner will become the owner of a brand new Audi Q8. Tickets are available from the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise counter at the Tennis Stadium, in Departures and Arrivals in Terminals 1, 2 and 3, at The Irish Village Craft Shop and at the DDF Finest Surprise counter at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
