Conquering qualifying to soar into the main draw
Kristina Mladenovic, 2015 Women's doubles champion, advanced to the Dubai WTA singles main draw
Monday at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships witnessed six players book their ticket into the main draw.
World No.38 Kristina Mladenovic breezed past seventh seed Polona Hercog 6-1 6-3 to meet fellow qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the opening round.
Elsewhere, Sorana Cirstea built on her triumph over top seed Julia Goerges on Sunday to prevail past former Top 10 star Carla Suarez Navarro 6-2 1-6 6-4. The world No.70 has earned a first round encounter with Australian Open quarter-finalist Anett Kontaveit.
Seeded qualifiers Jennifer Brady, Veronika Kudermetova advanced alongside Czech Katerina Siniakova.
