Tennis For All: UAE star leads inclusive children’s activation at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Former UAE No1 player Omar Behrouzian enjoys clinic with 30 children of determination

Dubai, UAE – February 19, 2025: The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships welcomed more than 30 children of determination on Wednesday for a morning dedicated to celebrating the joy of sports and creating a supportive sports community that is both diverse and inclusive.

Led by the former UAE No1 Omar Behrouzian, the dedicated clinic was supported by coaches from the Clark Francis Tennis Academy and focused on helping youngsters from local schools and non-profit organisations to better understand the importance of focus and commitment through a series of fun and friendly drills.

The children, from the likes of Heroes of Hope, Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Dubai Autism Centre, and the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, showed great enthusiasm as Behrouzian engaged with them for more than an hour. The first Emirati to enter the ATP rankings, he said he always feels honoured to be involved in the annual activation.

“I have been privileged to be a participant in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for 13 years now and have had the opportunity to share the court with these amazing kids in some of the previous editions,” Behrouzian said. “I have a lot of respect for them and to be able to see them smile, enjoy themselves, and be so engaged and active absolutely makes my day.”
