Dubai Duty Free Kids’ Day Serves Up Fun And Games For All

Over 80 children enjoyed an exciting morning on the tennis courts at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships today as they participated in the Dubai Duty Free Kids’ Day for children of determination.

February 27, 2019 – DUBAI, UAE: Over 80 children enjoyed an exciting morning on the tennis courts at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships today as they participated in the Dubai Duty Free Kids’ Day for children of determination.

Children from Dubai Center for Special Needs, Dubai Autism Center, Al Noor Training Centre, Manzil Centre Al Jalila Hospital, Tender Hearts Arena and Rashid Centre for the Determined Ones enjoyed tennis lessons and received a special visit from Indian doubles tennis players Purav Raja and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan.

Talking about this morning’s activities Raja said: “It was unbelievable to be out and support tennis. I think it is a great way to give back to the community so Im really happy to be here and hopefully have such days in the future.”

Nedunchezhiyan said: “It’s a great initiative by Dubai Duty Free to give back to the community by doing events like this. At the end of the day this is what it’s all about.”

Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman of Dubai Duty Free, said: “This is our opportunity to give back to the community and we’re delighted we can provide a unique experience for these children. The turnout was great and we hope we have offered an experience they will always remember.”

Tournament Director, Salah Tahlak was delighted to see the children enjoying the day: “The clinics for children of determination are a very important element of our community program, and it is great to see the children getting the chance to play some tennis and having two top doubles players here was an added bonus.”

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, which continues until 2nd March, is owned and organised by Dubai Duty Free and held under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
