28 February 2017 – DUBAI, UAE: The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the ATP Tournament this week, and on Saturday evening held the first of a number of special ceremonies planned for the week to recognize the many people whose support has contributed to the success of the tournament.
His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of Tennis Emirates was joined by Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free, Ramesh Cidambi, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Duty Free, and Salah Tahlak, Executive Vice President Corporate Services Dubai Duty Free and Tournament Director, in honouring and acknowledging the vital role played by the tournament sponsors.
His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of Tennis Emirates, receiving his Certificate of Appreciation.
The sponsors were presented with a commemorative box containing a copy of the "Game, Set and Dubai" film and book, as well as a silver coin all produced to mark the occasion of the 25th Anniversary.
The sponsors receiving the gifts included: Sjoerd Leenart – Senior Country Officer, Middle East, Turkey and Africa – J.P. Morgan; Boutros Boutros - Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications & Marketing, Emirates; K. Rajaram - CEO, Al Nabooda Automobiles; Fadi Tahan, General Manager (Lacoste) on behalf of Patrick Chalhoub – CEO Chalhoub Group; Rajeev Khanna – Commercial Director - Gulf News; Mahmoud Al Rasheed - General Manager of Arabian Radio Network; Gaurav Sabharwal - Managing Director - Pernod Ricard Gulf (Jacob's Creek); Faysal Moufarrej - Senior Vice President , Airport Catering Services , Emirates Flight Catering; Manish Khiara - Trade Marketing Manager- Masafi; and Michael Stroud - CEO - Dubai Bone and Joint Centre (DBAJ).
Representatives from Rolex and Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishments were unable to attend and will be presented with their gifts at a later date.

Following the presentation the sponsors joined the dignitaries in the VIP box to watch Elina Svitolina of Ukraine win her first WTA Dubai title with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Caroline Wozniacki.
The ATP event commenced on 27 February, and continues until 4 March and includes Wimbledon, Olympic and ATP Finals champion and world number one Andy Murray, seven-time Dubai winner and Australian Open champion Roger Federer, defending Dubai champion Stan Wawrinka, two-time Dubai finalist Tomas Berdych and the entertaining Gael Monfils.
The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships is owned and organised by Dubai Duty Free, and held under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
